at Brighton Sutton & District Training College

We are proud to work alongside the Gatsby benchmarking in our college and have a dedicated Work Experience and Work skills programme, providing careers support and opportunities for all students. Relevant trips and guest speakers are provided, to show students their future career options.

All students have the opportunity to undertake work experience or work skills as part of their programme. We work closely with our students to prepare for their work placement; ensuring they can create a good impression at interview and have the behaviour and social skills employers are looking for.

We are passionate about providing positive progressions for our students leaving the college, whether this is on to further education or into employment. We have strong links with Brighton Jobcentre, other training providers, and the Youth Employability Service in Kemptown.

"When I have had six weeks off I always find it hard to come back. I found it very helpful that I could come in during the summer holidays to get more of a head start. I am still shy and nervous but as time goes on you get more and more settled. This year at Sutton & District Training I have learned a lot of knowledge about customer service and the the rights and acts the customer has. For me I want my own business one day in the future so doing this course that I have really enjoyed will help me because I will need this for the future!
