College Life

at Brighton Sutton & District Training College

If a student is going to be absent, we ask that you ring in on 01273 694626 to report this as soon as possible. We also use a text service to contact parents and carers about absences and important college news. It will show as SDT text line on your phone.

Students attend their study programmes for three days a week. We have the same term dates as B&H council. Please do not book holidays during term time.

Students are expected to be at college ready to learn by 10am. Breakfast cereal and toast are available in the kitchen from 9.30am. At lunchtime, students are welcome to help themselves to snacks and sandwiches.

All students sign a student agreement and code of conduct and must remain respectful and considerate of other student and tutors. We want to keep everyone safe and happy.

Students may be entitled to a bursary payment if they fulfil specific criteria. Bursary is to help support students with their travel costs.

We have a ‘chill out’ room that all students are welcome to use at break and lunchtime, if they want some peace and quiet.
